Duties

JOB SUMMARY: Under the leadership of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Educational Services, the Director of Multi-Tiered Supports and Equity leads the equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts of the district, including the development and implementation of an Equity-Based Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). The Director collaborates with District and Building Leaders at all levels to advance and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic efforts with the goal of equitable access, support, and success for all leading to sustainable positive impact and outcomes for students, staff, and families. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the coordinated development and implementation of District strategic planning efforts, including the District-wide infrastructure that supports equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts. 
  • Develop and maintain an Equity-Based MTSS across the district by supporting administrators, educators, and leadership teams in implementation. Provide observation, feedback, modeling, and data interpretation within a continuous improvement framework.
  • Develop and enhance institutional and instructional capacity by providing professional development in alignment with the Illinois Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards to ensure equitable and inclusive practices across the district.
  • Provide assistance, coaching and consultation to individuals and groups regarding cross-cultural intelligence, as well as surrounding policies and practices from the lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Data and Assessment and Leaders to develop metrics for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the MTSS system.
  • Evaluate and report effectiveness and educational impact of programs and activities across stakeholder groups.
  • Partner with the Educational Services Department to coordinate Equity-Based MTSS training and implementation while monitoring the fidelity of academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support at district and school levels.
  • Partner across departments and buildings to support family and community engagement, communication, partnerships, networking, and advocacy to advance district initiatives.
  • Consult with the Human Resources Department to refine hiring protocols, guidelines, and tools, and develop effective practices for recruitment, support, and retention of a diverse highly qualified faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Monitor processes to ensure compliance and adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendents for Human Resources and Educational Services.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Demonstrated ability to compile, analyze and apply data from various assessment tools, including adaptive and curriculum-based measurement; experience decision-making, and encourage use of the same. 
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to facilitate equity conversations with issues related to intercultural competency in small and large groups.,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including timely written and oral communication with parents, staff, and other school personnel.  
  • Capacity for teamwork and for developing working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and parents, with experience coaching and mentoring others.

 

  • Ability to manage thoughtfully the personal, political, and institutional dynamics related to

equity, diversity, and inclusion in schools.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and leading multi-tiered systems of academic and behavioral supports and interventions to support high quality instruction for the needs of all students. 
  • Advanced training and implementation experience in philosophies and practices to support equity, diversity, inclusion, systems of support efforts.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education, School Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university, with successful coursework in administration, supervision, and curriculum development.
  • Appropriate Illinois credentials to evaluate certified staff. 
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate administrative endorsement (ie: Principal, Superintendent, etc.).
  • Five years teaching experience or related experience in the field of education, preferably within a PK-12 system.

Salary/Benefits

Salary and benefits are determined by the Superintendent based on experience and credentials. This is a twelve (12) month position. FLSA Exempt.

 

SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $140,000 Based on Experience
