Share: Print: Duties Collaborate with an inclusive team to develop, monitor, and implement student IEPs. Instruct students using a district-aligned curriculum. Develop lesson plans and goals that meet district expectations. Enrich or modify lessons, curriculum, materials, and resources following the needs of each student. Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress. Administer standardized assessments as directed. Interpret student assessment data to apply instructional methods and monitor student progress. Communicate consistently, effectively, and appropriately timely with parents and students about progress using oral, written, and emerging technologies. Set clear expectations for students and manage classroom and school environment, applying positive behavior supports and interventions as needed. Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as a role model by encouraging appropriate behaviors that lead to social, emotional, and physical development. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal and/or Director of Special Education. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field. Learning Behavior Specialist I or similar certification appropriate for the grade levels assigned. Strong instructional, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of curriculum design and implementation, including the use of appropriate instruction technologies. Demonstrated ability for student management and instructional delivery. Salary/Benefits Salary is based on the NBEA contract and depends on experience/education.
