Duties

VACANCY:  The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Physical Education/Health/Drivers Ed. teaching position for the 2025-2026 school year.
 
JOB SUMMARY:  The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for: planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.
 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:          

• Applicants must hold the appropriate State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a endorsement in Physical Education, Health and Drivers Education.
• Successful 9-12 teaching experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate record keeping
• Applicants must be able to design individualized fitness plans and lessons based on athletes needs and goals as communicated by their coaches
• Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning
• Applicants will meet with coaches and communicate regularly to develop strength training goals and programs for students.
• Applicant must be able to work in culturally diverse environment
• Applicants must be able to serve as a liaison between Physical Education Classes and athletic programs regarding equipment and facility needs, under the supervision and guidance of the Athletic Director and Core Content Administrator.
• Applicants willing and qualified to participate in co-curricular programs such as coaching or before/after school strength training programming.
• Candidate must hold or be able to complete and maintain CPR certification.
