Duties

• Teach a variety of FCS courses including foods and nutrition, child development, family relationships, consumer education, and personal finance
• Design and implement curriculum aligned with Illinois learning standards
• Create engaging lessons that incorporate hands-on learning experiences
• Maintain a safe learning environment, particularly in kitchen and lab settings
• Advise the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter
• Participate in professional development opportunities
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
• Support district and school events

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate FCS endorsement/CTE License
• Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education or related field
• Student teaching experience or prior teaching experience preferred
• Understanding of rural education and small school environments
• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
• Enthusiasm for teaching practical life skills to adolescents

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range $38,200 - $64,470.  Board paid TRS, 14 sick days 3 personal days, health, dental, and vision insurance.

Will include sponsorship for FCCLA. Other extra curricular and coaching positions available.
