Special Education Teacher – Middle School
6th-8th grade
Full-Time
Dates: 2026-2027 School Year

JOB SUMMARY: 
The teacher is responsible to the Director of Special Education for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students with learning disabilities; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and employing effective instructional techniques.

Qualifications:

• The candidate must hold an Professional Educator Licensure with:
  • Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement
  • Registered in region 07
• Bachelor's Degree
• Expertise in behavior management strategies
• Ability to write and implement IEP's
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Successful 6^th – 8^th special education teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning and appropriate record-keeping

Qualifications

 Qualifications:

• The candidate must hold a Professional Educator Licensure (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement for Grades (K- 9).
• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) Registration in Region 07 (South Cook ISC 4)
• Learning Behavior Specialist1 (LBS1) Endorsement
• Grades K- 9

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range: $52,255.00 - $61,905.00 per year. (Compensation is based on education level and years of experience, per the district salary schedule).  We also offier Health, dental, and vision insurance. Retirement plan options, tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities
