Lyons Township School Treasurer
The Trustees of the Lyons Township Treasurer’s Office seek a highly qualified individual to serve as Township Treasurer. The next Treasurer must be a certified public accountant or a certified chief school business official (CSBO) per Illinois School Code (105 ILCS5/8-1(e)). In addition, the successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Qualifications
- Knowledge/experience or educational course work on investing in fixed income investments
- Knowledge/experience in governmental (fund) accounting
- Bonded or eligible for bonding by a surety company
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Experience processing payroll, accounts payable, and preparing bank reconciliations; and
- Proven ability to communicate and work collaboratively with others.
The Lyons Township Treasurer’s Office serves 11 school districts/educational institutions and municipalities located in west suburban Cook County, Illinois. Its mission is “to provide efficient consolidated financial services that reduce operating costs and maximize interest earnings through pooled fund investing.” Its members include: Western Springs SD 101, LaGrange SD 102, Lyons SD 103, Cook County SD 104, LaGrange SD 105, Highlands SD 106, Pleasantdale SD 107, Willow Springs SD 108, Indian Springs SD 109, the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE), Argo Community High School 217.
Salary/Benefits
Expected compensation: $175,000 - $195,000 range, with a robust benefits package to include health/dental insurance, IMRF retirement benefits, life insurance, and more.
