Qualifications
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

Valid Illinois Teacher Professional Educator License.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field (for Elementary Teachers) is required.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to working with students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong knowledge of subject matter content and pedagogy.

Knowledge of and/or expressed interest in individualized instruction of students.

Ability to effectively manage a diverse classroom environment.

Commitment to student-centered teaching and continuous improvement and professional growth.

A minimum of 18 semester hours in the area of major teaching assignment, including 5 semester hours in each course where subject matter areas are divided into two or more specific courses (Junior High School Teachers).

Selection Procedure: It is not necessary that you contact the District #90 administrators to request an interview. The following procedure will be followed:
1. Applications will be reviewed.
2. Based upon the assessment of the application, the most promising candidates will be contacted for a personal interview.
3. Following the interview process, a written recommendation will be prepared supporting the employment decision.
4. The recommendation for employment will be presented by the Superintendent to the Board of Education for consideration and action.
5. Those Candidates who were interviewed will be notified of the Board's decision.
