Duties

 

  1. Assist the principal in the administration, organization, safety, supervision, and educational leadership of the school and assume the administrative leadership of the school in absence of the principal.
  2. Assist the principal in the supervision, professional development, observation, and evaluation of teachers and staff.
  3. Enforce school policies, assign disciplinary consequences, and address behavioral issues in collaboration with students, teachers, and parents.
  4. Work closely with teachers to support classroom management and student behavior.
  5. Assist in the development and/or implementation of behavior improvement initiatives.
  6. Monitor student attendance and implement strategies to address truancy and other attendance-related issues.
  7. Assist in the development and execution of school-wide events, such as assemblies, pep rallies, field trips, and school celebrations.
  8. Act as a point of contact for crisis management and emergency situations. Participate in annual safety planning and drills.
  9. Assist school improvement planning and work with staff to analyze data and implement intervention programming. 
  10. Attend 504 and IEP meetings and collaborate with staff, students, on families to develop plans and programming.
  11. Assist in the procurement of substitute teacher/staff coverage and help to ensure that substitutes have adequate resources and training.
  12. Assist in day to day operations of the school including attendance at and  supervision of evening activities, lunch periods, lunch detentions, and in-school suspension.
  13. Oversee the teacher mentoring program for the school district.
  14. Assist in the completion of local, state, and federal reports.
  15. Assist in planning and execution of student orientation, new teacher orientation, back to school meetings, professional development meetings, and school registration.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or administration.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Administrative Endorsement. 

Salary/Benefits

This is a 200 day administrative contract. Salary based on experience, education, and area comparisons. Minimum starting salary $64,000. Benefits: TRS, employee health insurance and life insurance. Voluntary dental and vision.
