Duties

  • Supports the Principal and Student Services Director and acts as LEA for the building. 
  • 504 Coordinator for the building; maintains student records and communicates accommodations and modifications to students and staff and ensures implementation of 504s with fidelity. 
  • Coordinates and facilitates the summer school programs, curriculum guides, and the Seal of Biliteracy program. 
  • Builds, maintains, and supports the Master Schedule for the high school. 
  • Provides leadership in the School Improvement Planning process with a specific focus on S.M.A.R.T. Goals and Professional Learning Communities. 
  • Assists in all data collection and management; knowledge, understanding, and use of a data management system as appropriate. 
  • Observes and evaluates teachers in their classrooms and offers insight for the enhancement of the teaching-learning. 
  • Monitors implementation of MTSS, PLCs, and grade level and departmental meetings in order to affect horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program and support improved student learning outcomes. 
  • Collaborates with the junior high school to test, recommend, and place incoming 9th grade students; contributes to course recommendations and course selection for incoming/new students. 
  • Coordinates the setup and administration for the school’s school-wide testing program/initiative, including oversight and application of state and local standardized testing. Serves as the SSD Coordinator for students with disabilities. 
  • Assists in the coordination and implementation of alternative pathways toward graduation – including liaison and oversight of web-based/online programming for students. 
  • Member of the School-wide Data Team and several District Leadership Teams. 
  • Performs and all other duties assigned by the Principal, Superintendent or designee.

Qualifications

1. Must possess a Professional Educator License with General Administrative endorsement
2. Experience in school administration
3. Experience in evaluating instruction
4. Should have knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
5. Should have knowledge in implementation of Common Core State Standards
6. Should have knowledge of Student Services (Special Education, 504s)

Summary:  In search of an educational leader who is extremely student-centered, passionate, and compassionate. The right individual will know how to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, and be able to work collaboratively in a rigorous academic environment. The role has a strong teaching and learning component, and the person in the role must have a passion for instructional leadership. In addition, the position requires an individual with strong communication skills and someone who possesses the ability to problem solve at a high level. Experience in educational leadership is preferred. Knowledge and background in working with students with disabilities recommended.
