Duties
This position will have several periods of instruction designed to assist students with doing interest surveys, strength and natural inclination surveys, and career exploration. In addition, students would be exposed to a variety of CTE fields and the requirements and salaries of said fields. Lastly, these periods would also follow the Carterville Illinois PaCE framework we have established to assist students with post-secondary opportunities.
This position will have a couple of periods that are designed to be more hands-on exposure to some general CTE skills. These are small units that expose them to fields such as electricity, CAD, small motors, plumbing, soldering, basic construction principles, etc.
Qualifications
Candidates must have either a Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed in a CTE area, an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed in Career and Technical Education, or an Educator License with Stipulations for Career and Technical Education Provisional. (ELS-CTEP).
*The state of Illinois will allow a person with a PEL to teach for 3 years while working to obtain the proper certification, so a candidate who is a course or two or three shy could be eligible.

Salary/Benefits
The starting annual salary is $47,500.00 per our local association contract. The salary schedule is available on our website at www.cartervillelions.org under the finance tab.

ELS endorsed in CTE
- Minimum of 60 semester hours*
- Documented a minimum of 2,000 hours of experience in the area to be taught. Work experience in an educational setting may be used if the applicant was delivering the instruction and was not the recipient of the instruction.
