Duties
Duties: It is ultimately the Case Manager's responsibility to ensure that due process procedures and timelines comply with federal and state regulations, with the supervision and assistance of the building and department administration. The Case Manager's duties include supporting building and department administration as well as teachers and staff. The evaluation of staff are also included in the responsibilities of the Case Manager. The Case Manager reports directly to the Administrator of Student Services.
Responsibilities:
Maintain proper daily attendance and punctuality.
Ensure and document parent notification of conference(s).
Maintain open lines of communication with parents (and document).
Maintain special education files (as well as electronically) in a neat and chronological order.
Schedule and facilitate a variety of meetings, including but not limited to: Individual Education Program (IEP), Domain, Intake Consultation (I/C), Reevaluation, Manifestation Determination and Early Intervention.
Monitor the evaluation and reevaluation process.
Maintain open lines of communication with staff concerning their individual responsibilities.
Evaluate teaching and support staff (classroom teachers, speech therapists and school service personnel).
Seek parental consent for Medicaid billing.
Communicate accommodations, modifications grading guidelines, and/or behavioral plans to all involved with the student.
Monitor IEP implementation.
Be knowledgeable about the IEP and ensure it is implemented correctly.
Develop a system to gather information from service providers regarding student progress.
Ensure that all due process procedures and timelines are met. Write Federal and State Grants.
Develop handbooks (staff, student, parent) and revises annually. Coordinate special programs and parent involvement activities Other duties assigned by administration/supervisor.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Master's Degree with administrative principal's Illinois license as required by law. Completed teaching evaluation modules 1-4. Special education endorsement preferred. Minimum of four years teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in instruction and case management. Highly collaborative personal qualities and commitment to professional development. Dedication to working with all students to support their success academically, socially, and behaviorally. The position also requires for the candidate to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Salary/Benefits
Salary/Benefits: $75,000 - $82,000 (depending on experience) established by the Board of Education- 11 month contract (August 1 – June 30)
