Duties

  • Plan and direct a program for recruitment, selection, and assignment of the most qualified  teachers and educational support staff
  • Direct the management of the district’s collective bargaining agreements
  • In collaboration with the Business Office, assists in negotiations with bargaining units representing classified and certified district staff
  • Monitor human resource activities of administrators and managers to assure compliance with  district policies, collective bargaining agreements and laws and regulations
  • Prepare and submit state and federal reporting for compliance
  • Serve as the District lead for the oversight and coordination of policy updates through Press Plus
  • Develops and monitors the process for establishing annual seniority list
  • Oversee the district employee evaluation program
  • Conducts or oversees investigations related to complaints pertaining to violations of policy, code or statute, and implements appropriate disciplinary action when necessary
  • Serve as the district Title IX and Non-Discrimination Coordinator
  • Provides administrative oversight in assuring compliance for teachers and administrative license renewals and maintains and approves staff professional growth plans
  • Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with collective bargaining groups for  the purpose of assuring good employee relationships
  • Support the superintendent in his/her efforts, interpret his/her ideas and decisions to the staff  and public, keep him/her informed of pertinent developments and events, and seek the  superintendent’s counsel or decision as necessary
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Human Resources, or related field
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal endorsement and Illinois Qualified Evaluator certification
  • Experience in school administration and leadership, preferably in school human resources or as a high school building administrator
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as speaking and presentation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of rules, laws, principles, procedures, and ethical guidelines governing personnel administration.
  • Relevant Human Resources certifications preferred
  • Adept at using Human Resources-related technology systems (i.e. Infinite Visions; Skyward; Frontline; Verifent)
