Duties
Essential job functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor all special education programs • Provide technical support to all building administrators and staff, • Develop, implement and assist with professional development,
- Collaborate with special and general education staff and parents regarding student progress, behavioral and academic intervention, functional analysis, behavior plans, referral process, IEP issues, • Assist in identification, diagnosis, and placement of students with disabilities and placement of students with disabilities into appropriate educational programs in the least restrictive environment, • Facilitate transition services for special education services, • Monitors correct completion of IEPs, • Demonstrates knowledge of best practices and research-based instructional and behavioral strategies, • Demonstrates strong personal skills, • Effectively communicates with parents, staff, and administrators, orally and in writing, • Perseus professional growth and development, • Participates in the evaluation process as appropriate,
- Orients staff to the policies and procedures, • Demonstrates leadership skills in working collaboratively as a member of the administrative team, • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educator License with one of the following:
- Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBSI) AND Principal (PRIN) Endorsement
- Director of Special Education (DSE) Endorsement
Salary/Benefits
Salary range from $65,000-$150,000. Benefits include: 205 day contract, Board Paid TRS, Health (BCBS), Vision, Dental and Life insurance options, 3 personal days and 14 sick days.
