Duties

Basic Function: Provide leadership and support to secondary school staff in implementing District 100 bilingual education programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering best practices to enhance student outcomes. Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to promote equity and access for bilingual students.

Performance Responsibilities:  

  1. Supervise and evaluate bilingual education programs, including curriculum, learning activities, materials, and teacher instruction.
  2. Advocate for bilingual students and their families throughout the educational process.
  3. Develop and implement long-term plans for bilingual services, aligned with the district’s strategic goals.
  4. Oversee curriculum and program planning for bilingual education, ensuring fidelity of implementation.
  5. Coordinate and deliver professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
  6. Update and monitor procedures for the evaluation, placement, and annual review of bilingual students.
  7. Collaborate with building administrators to implement consistent management practices aligned with district policies and staffing allocations. 

 

  1. Monitor student enrollment ensuring appropriate programming, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  2. Coordinate language proficiency assessments and ensure appropriate accommodations for bilingual students in all testing scenarios.
  3. Assist building administration with the coordination of bilingual students' schedules and/or services.
  4. Communication with the Director of Bilingual Education regarding staffing and student impacts on cultural, social, and educational programming.
  5. Assist building administration with bilingual-level events, i.e. school assemblies, family nights, or student/community resources.
  6. Stay informed of research and emerging practices in bilingual education.
  7. Support the evaluation of bilingual education staff in collaboration with building administrators.
  8. Facilitate transition planning and meetings, such as middle to high school transitions, ensuring a smooth process for bilingual students.
  9. Participate in staffing projections and resource planning based on enrollment trends and program needs.
  10. Work with external agencies to support bilingual students’ post-secondary transitions and opportunities
  11. Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Administrator Evaluation Plan.  

 

Qualifications

PEL License w/ Bilingual Education Degree and General Administrative Endorsement; for more qualifications and responsibilities see attached job description.

Salary/Benefits

$87,500.00 based on experience Regionally Competitive and commensurate with experience
