Duties

1. Assist in the development and implementation of procedures for dealing with Emergency and Crisis Response Plan
2. Prepare or oversee the preparation of required reports and maintain all appropriate records and documentation
3. Assist parents in contacting school and agency services
4. Make presentations to faculty, students, and parents as requested by the principal
5. Work with the District communication personnel in developing and implementing positive public relations for the school

6. Implement School Board policy, State statutes, and federal regulations as they pertain to the school
7. Assist with the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan as requested by the principal
8. Oversee food services at the school
9. Oversee student transportation services
10. Supervise and evaluate instructional assistants
11. Work with the Director of Buildings & Grounds to supervise custodians
12. Select and supervise substitute personnel
13. Assign staff to before-school and after-school duties
14. Assist in the supervision and evaluation of certified school personnel as requested by the principal
15. Facilitate the implementation of the code of student conduct in accordance with Board policy and established student management procedures to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment; maintain accurate behavioral incident records
16. Oversee the school behavior team to assist in the development of school-wide behavior initiatives
17. Holds conferences with parents, teachers, and/or students regarding student behavioral matters
18. Oversee the use of the student behavior data
19. Assist in developing and implementing family and community involvement programs and initiatives, such as business partnerships and volunteer programs
20. Manage student attendance and corresponding procedures
21. Assumes responsibilities as Winkelman testing coordinator for all state/local assessments.
22. Coordinate and supervise before and / or after-school programs and activities
23. Coordinate and supervise lunch and recess by assigning supervisors and ensuring appropriate behavior and conduct
24. Serve as the principal in his / her absence
25. Develop schedules that support instruction and student activities
26. Develop and maintain the school’s calendars
27. Prepare and maintain handbooks (student, parent, staff) - hard copy and/or electronic
28. Chair and/or co-chair committees as requested by the principal

29. Assume responsibilities for school-related activities that extend beyond the school day
30. Assist the principal with the overall administration of the summer school program. Designated as an administrator in charge during the summer school program.
31. Complete local, State, and federal reports as directed by the principal
32. Keep the principal informed
33. Perform all other duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent

School District #31 Principal / Assistant Principal Evaluation Plan

Qualifications

1. Masters degree or higher from an accredited institution, with a major in administration or educational leadership
2. State of Illinois PEL administrative licensure
3. Certified to evaluate licensed teachers and staff (required)
4. Five or more years experience in public school education preferred
5. Proven leadership and decision-making abilities
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration and Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Salary/Benefits

$95,000 - $105,000 plus benefits.
