Duties

  1. Provide therapy in compliance with state (ISBE & IL practice act) and local (BHASED and district) policies and procedures.
  2. Identify and evaluate students needing occupational therapy services.
  3. Establish individual occupational therapy programs and goals for eligible students.
  4. Cooperate with the physical therapist serving the program to assure that both types of therapy are provided as appropriate with no overlap of service.
  5. Monitor occupational therapy services for specific students assigned.
  6. Maintain up-to- date documentation standards on individual students: daily notes, data on goals, evaluation results/present level of performance (strengths and needs), progress reports and other documentation as appropriate and necessary.
  7. Complete billing and Medicaid charges.
  8. Supervision of paraprofessional and/or classroom staff in programs to support student progress as appropriate.
  9. Collaborate and consult with teachers, parents, other therapists, and/or administration regarding school related services.
  10. Participate in development of Individual Programs and staffings as appropriate
  11. Maintain/monitor school owned treatment, adaptive and assistive equipment (including inventory, loaned equipment, safety checks, new equipment, etc.) and assist with personal equipment as appropriate.
  12. When appropriate and requested assist with annual needs assessment, in-services and other special programs or services provided by BHASED
  13. Work cooperatively with the Supervisor of OT/PT Services to assure quality, comprehensive services to all eligible students.
  14. Fulfill requirements to maintain valid IL licensure.
  15. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Illinois Occupational Therapist License (IDFPR), Masters in Occupational Therapy

Salary/Benefits

5 days per week (180 days per school year).  Per collective bargaining agreement ($45,658 - $73,052).
