Duties

The paraprofessional assists students with all instructional and non-instructional needs. The paraprofessional assists in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in a classroom. The paraprofessional performs various tasks in assisting the classroom teacher with meeting the educational needs of the students in the particular program to which they are assigned. The District is seeking to hire paraprofessionals to work in our regular classroom and special education programs. 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate;
  • Must hold the Educator License with Stipulations for Paraprofessionals - ELS (PARA);
  • Ability to work closely with the classroom teacher and assist with instruction and supervision of students;
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, use of email and Google Suite applications;
  • Ability to use independent judgment and demonstrate initiative to act in accordance with established policies and regulations;
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions; 
  • Some knowledge of the field of child development and some knowledge of student behavior management techniques;
  • Able to serve as a role model for students by demonstrating a positive attitude and effective work ethic;
  • Exhibits positive interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with students, staff, administrators, and parents;
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Salary/Benefits

  • Starting hourly pay of $18.01-$20.49;
  • Hourly pay is commensurate with education;
