Duties
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. This role involves designing and implementing engaging, age-appropriate instruction that meets the diverse needs of students while adhering to state and district curriculum guidelines. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and ensuring student success through individualized support and innovative teaching strategies.
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons that align with educational best practices, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. You will assess student progress through multiple evaluation techniques and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure each student receives the support they need. Addressing academic and behavioral challenges will be an integral part of your role, requiring strong problem-solving and intervention skills.
Maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment is essential, as is fostering meaningful connections with students, parents, and school staff. Effective communication will be key in collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student learning and development. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping accurate records, including attendance, assessments, and special education documentation, while participating in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide initiatives.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field, along with a valid state teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with special needs is preferred. Strong classroom management skills, the ability to adapt instruction based on student needs, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Hold a Professional Educator's License(PEL) with content specific endorsement: LBSI
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's Degree in Education
- Previous teaching with middle-school aged students
