Duties

In collaboration with a partner teacher, the dual language teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated instruction in the target language that is aligned to the curriculum and learning standards. The dual language teacher establishes a culture for learning within the classroom, ensuring that students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The dual language teacher maintains regular communication with parent(s)/guardian(s) with regard to the instructional program and student progress.  Multiple positions are available for the 2025-2026 school year.  

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsements in elementary and/or self-contained general education, and ESL required.          
  • Strong knowledge of the WIDA standards and instructional best practices in language, literacy, and mathematics;
  • Must possess familiarity with second language acquisition pedagogy; 
  • Foundational knowledge of Google Classroom applications and the ability to incorporate technology as a means of enhancing instruction;
  • Individual must be flexible, creative and child centered;
  • Ability to assess the learning of students and modify or enhance instruction as needed;
  • Ability to analyze various forms of data and use the information to make instructional decisions;
  • Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using standards-based varied teaching methods to address student learning styles;
  • Strong knowledge of state learning standards and instructional best practices in literacy and mathematics;
  • Able to work with a diverse student population and establish open and regular communication with parents and guardians; and
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Salary/Benefits

  • Starting salary of $49,029; (Please click the link to view the current (salary schedule);
  • Salary is commensurate with education and experience;
  • Qualified candidates may be granted up to twenty years of verified full-time teaching experience for credit on the salary schedule;
