Duties
ROE #11 is seeking an Attendance Specialist to provide direct services to students that will assist them in overcoming barriers that interfere with school attendance. Key responsibilities include developing positive relationships with truant students and their families through home visits, school/classroom visits, incentive programs, mentoring, monitoring, and any other activities that are relevant to the intervention process.
Qualifications
Attendance Specialists are licensed teachers skilled in working with at-risk youth, especially those whose poor school attendance is causing the to fall behind or disconnect from educational opportunities. The successful candidate will possess a flexible, positive, and supportive mindset. Additionally, the successful candidate will be organized, efficient, and possess outstanding communication skills.
Salary/Benefits
Competitive salary and outstanding benefits will be discussed with the final candidate(s). Mileage reimbursement.
Salary range: $42,411-$47,463
Additional Notes
A unique position, Attendance Specialists are tasked with building positive relationships with students, families, school districts, and community agencies. The successful candidate must be willing to travel a portion of the ROE #11 service region: Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie, and/or Shelby Counties. This position will be posted until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
