Duties

  • This position will oversee the Maroa-Forsyth High School Special Education department, guiding program goals and ensuring state and federal regulations compliance. 
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15 IEP students, including creating and implementing individualized education plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support student success.  
  • Evaluate student progress regularly through the progress monitoring of IEP goals and objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor student IEP needs in compliance with state and federal law and district procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning all assigned students' academic and behavioral progress.
  • Actively participate in the IEP process. This includes meeting preparation, data collection, written notices, and participation in the meeting. 
  • In the classroom, this position will Instruct and support students in courses tailored to meet their individual educational needs while working closely with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom practices and provide accommodations.
  • Previous teaching experience with special education students is desired but not required.  All candidates should have an active and appropriate Illinois teaching license for this position.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS 1 Certification.

Salary/Benefits

  • Salary placement schedule: Up to 20 years of experience, including out-of-state and private schools, are granted. Any raises are factored into placement salary after year 1. 25-26 Placement Schedule
  • Board paid TRS
  • $700 board contribution toward health insurance
  • 14 sick days, three personal days
