Duties
*Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in special education and professional development
*Assist in preparing the Individual Education Plans for each child in the assigned subpopulation, ensure that an annual review is completed and that all legal timelines are adhered to
*Maintain and distribute such records as are necessary to ensure the effect and efficient delivery of services to children and to provide statistical data as required by the Director of Special Education
*Conduct ongoing needs assessment of the programs, develop in-service programs to address areas of need, advise the Director of Special Education of needs which must be met by means other than in-service
*Act as a liaison between cooperating districts, the joint agreement, parents, agencies and the community at large as needed to serve the subpopulation of assigned responsibility
*Advise the Director of Special Education regarding the budgetary considerations/needs in their assigned areas of responsibility
*Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
*Utilize technology in the educational setting
*Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Education
Qualifications
PEL and 5 years minimum successful teaching experience
Administrative certification preferred
Salary/Benefits
Ten months. Salary and benefits as determined by the current schedules and benefits approved by the joint agreement governing authorities
