Duties

? Provide direct, individualized care to the assigned student, ensuring the safe
management of seizure disorders, including administering medications as prescribed
and monitoring for signs of seizure activity.
? Assist with and manage tube feeding, ensuring proper techniques are followed and
monitoring for any complications related to feeding, when needed.
? Develop, implement, and update the student’s health care plan in collaboration with the
student's healthcare team, teachers, and parents/guardians.
? Administer emergency interventions as needed in the case of seizures or other medical
emergencies.
? Monitor the student's overall health and communicate with parents/guardians and school
personnel regarding changes in health status.
? Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the school administration to ensure a safe and
inclusive learning environment for the student.
? Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of seizures, tube feedings,
and other health-related concerns.
? Educate school staff on the student's medical needs and provide training on how to
respond to seizures or assist with feeding.

Qualifications

Qualifictions: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois. Previous experience in pediatric or school
nursing, particularly with seizure disorders, tube feeding, and other chronic health conditions, is preferred. Knowledge
and experience with seizure management protocols, tube feeding techniques, and emergency procedures related to
these conditions. Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and make critical decisions in emergency
situations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, school staff, and
the healthcare team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and school district regulations.
Certification in CPR and First Aid required; training in seizure management and tube feeding. Compassionate, patient,
and dedicated to the health and well-being of students.

Working Conditions:
? Full-time, during school hours, following the school calendar.
? Physical demands may include lifting, positioning the student, and standing for extended
periods.
? The school environment requires occasional flexibility to meet the student's needs in
different settings.
