Duties
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Monitors and maintains student conduct when students are on bus.
- Reports any student concerns to the transportation coordinator and building principals.
- Keeps assigned bus clean.
- Keeps to assigned schedule.
- Checks bus (performs pre-trip inspection) before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notifies the Transportation Coordinator in case of mechanical failure or lateness while on the route.
- Picks up and releases students only at authorized locations.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transports only authorized students.
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
- Enforces district policy on student behavior on buses.
- Attends training that is required by the school district (e.g. random drug testing, refresher course, etc.).
- Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.
- Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with school personnel and the public as a school leader.
Reports to: Transportation Coordinator
Qualifications
Requirements:
Valid CDL Class B license with School Bus endorsement.
Demonstrated desire to help all children.
Salary/Benefits
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine month school year. Salary and work to be established by Board based upon recommendation by the Superintendent.
