Duties
The principal will lead staff in results-driven practices and processes in support of learning for all students
by engaging in the following:
- The principal will live a mission and vision focused on results. The principal will work with the staff and community to build a shared mission and vision of high expectations that ensures all students are on the path to college and career readiness and holds the staff accountable for result.
- The principal will lead and manage systems change. The principal will create and implement systems to ensure a safe, orderly and productive environment for student and adult learning toward the achievement of school and district improvement priorities.
- The principal will improve teaching and learning. The principal will work with the school staff and community to develop a research-based framework for effective teaching and learning that is refined continually to improve instruction for all students.
- The principal will build and maintain collaborative relationships. The principal will create a collaborative school community where the school staff, families and community interact regularly and share ownership for the success of the school.
- The principal will lead with integrity and professionalism. The principal will work with the school staff and community to create a positive context for learning by ensuring equity, fulfilling professional responsibilities with honesty and integrity, and serving as a model for the professional behavior of others.
- The principal will create and sustain a culture of high expectations. The principal will work with staff and community to build a culture of high expectations and aspirations for every student by setting clear staff and student expectations for positive learning behaviors and by focusing on students’ social-emotional learning.
Management
The principal will:
- Develop and submit to Human Resources a staffing plan (IIID)
- Develop and submit to the CFO a balanced budget and monitor overall school and departmental budgets (IIC)
- Develop a Master Schedule and Staff Supervision Schedule that support student learning (IIIG)
- Serve as the building level fiscal agent ensuring that bookkeeping functions are being performed using best accounting practices and procedures to monitor school programs (i.e. National School Lunch Program) established by the District are being followed (IIC)
- Be responsible for building operations and maintenance (IIB)
- Uphold Board of Education and central office policies and procedures (VB)
- Enforce student handbook and building procedures (VB)
- Address issues relative to staff and student attendance and behavior (VIB)
- Oversee the inventory, purchase, and organization of all materials and fixed assets (IIC)
- Oversee building level vendor and service contracts (IIC)
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the building level crisis plan (IIB)
- Supervise school activities and events (IIB)
Qualifications
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR LICENSE WITH PRINCIPAL/ADMINISTRATIVE ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 Years of Teaching Experience and Strong Communication Skills.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION SKILLS: 3-5 Years of Administrative Experience; Experience working with Diverse Populations; Experience working with Multi-Language Learners;
Experience working with At-Risk Populations; Experience working with Special Education Learners.
