Duties
Applicant must be willing to:
- Prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, and materials for PLTW Engineering curriculum and career-related instruction.
- Work cooperatively with a team of CTE teachers to ensure consistency of instruction.
- Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of materials and equipment for classroom and laboratory.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Ensure students acquire necessary skills to contribute positively to society by teaching 21st Century Skills that prepare students for architecture, construction, vocational, engineering, and other associated professions.
- Work cooperatively with staff to support a collaborative school culture.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Work cooperatively with teachers of all departments to support a collaborative school culture.
- Possess strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Use research-based methods to develop engaging lessons that require higher order of thinking.
- Accommodate students with a variety of skills, abilities, and challenges.
- Participate in extracurricular/coaching opportunities as available, i.e., Cross Country, Track and Field, Tennis, and Baseball.
Qualifications
Appropriate Illinois Professional Educator License and/or required Provisional Licensure.
