Duties
The Regional Specialist will be responsible for delivering targeted support to districts, developing and providing professional learning regional workshops and at the statewide conference. This role will include collaborating with multiple teams, developing training materials and reporting on the impact of support initiatives. These positions are funded by a grant and the individuals will serve the project as independent contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Professionalism and Coordination of Tasks
- Attend and contribute to a monthly meeting with the BAT Coordinator and Regional Specialists.
- Submit detailed monthly reports on the impact of support initiatives.
- Attend weekly BAT meetings with BAT Coordinator to discuss regional updates.
- Submit monthly timesheets and expense reports
Statewide Support
- Develop and present at the statewide conference, across four locations.
- Assist with the review and revision of the guidance document and companion document.
Regional Support
- Develop professional learning materials and present at least ten regional workshops, offered virtually and in person.
- Make initial contact and maintain relationships with Regional Offices of Education in assigned areas.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate logistics for regional workshops
Targeted District Support
- Plan and deliver professional development sessions, including creating PD plans and logic models for approval
- Provide ongoing coaching and support on district PD plans.
- Provide monthly reports on the effectiveness and outcomes of district support initiatives.
Other duties related to the project scope of work as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Professional Educator License (PEL), LBS I and General Administrative or Principal endorsement.
At least 5 years of experience that demonstrates mastery in each of the following areas:
- Ability to create, develop, and implement professional development related to FBA and BIP
- Knowledge of special education law
- Ability to coordinate and work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Demonstrate strong communication and public relations skills
- Ability to understand school reports and records
Desired:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Additional Notes
We have three field staff positions for the northern regions of Illinois. Individuals will provide virtual and in-person training. Travel is required.
