Duties
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as a school psychologist for a Prek-2 building.
- Serve as primary Social Emotional Learning (SEL) support for the Instructional Life Skills Program housed at the Prek-2 building.
- Serve as primary LEA for the Instructional Life Skills Program housed at the Prek-2 building.
- Work collaboratively with others to optimize student achievement.
- Participate in and deliver staff development opportunities.
- Share a strong commitment to professional excellence.
A. Designing Individualized Educational Programs
- Developing individualized goals and objectives based on assessment results providing long-range student planning
- Fully participating in the IEP process
B. Assessment
- Engaging in student planning activities as part of the larger MTSS system
- Selecting appropriate assessment instruments
- Conducting assessments appropriately
- Interpreting assessment information accurately
- Screening/referral/evaluation process
- Reporting assessment data in a clear and concise manner
- Providing classroom observations
- Conducting Preschool screenings
C. Systems Support
- Supporting efforts to build a responsive system through MTSS and special education programming
- Participating in building based and district level activities
D. Provision of Direct Services
- Providing consultation and training to staff and parents as needed
- Provide direct services to children with disabilities
- Providing training for parents and staff as needed
- Participating in the development and implementation of mental health preventative strategies
- Demonstrating an understanding of individual and group counseling techniques
E. Case Management
- Participating with the building Student Services Team
- Monitoring implementation and legal compliance of student IEPs
- Managing and coordinating required paperwork
F. Other duties as assigned
Salary/Benefits
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: Salary placement is dependent on years of teaching experience and education. Please refer to the GEA Collective Bargaining Agreement for contract information.
