Duties

The Tri-Valley School District is looking for a student-centered, high-energy, and hard-working Director of Special Services for the 2025-2026 school year. This administrator will provide leadership, vision, and oversight for the district's special education programs and other special services. The Director will be responsible for managing and supporting special education staff, overseeing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and fostering strong relationships with parents, students, and community stakeholders. The Director will also ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations (IDEA, Article 14) and promote a collaborative, inclusive learning environment for all students with disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and collaboration will be essential to this administrative role.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL). 
  • Hold qualifications as a Teacher Evaluator (all training modules). 
  • Currently hold or in pursuit of General Administrative Endorsement or Director of Special Education endorsement. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years teaching or administrative experience within Special Education.
  • Minimum of two (2) years school administrative experience, preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
