Duties

Reporting to the direct Supervisor, uses appropriate project management tools and practices to coordinate, implement and support the Kindergarten Individual Development Survey (KIDS) of Illinois public school students. Works with test contractors and others within the Agency and department to ensure quality, timely, and appropriate products and supports for the field. Coordinates and develops the annual state KIDS data report. Supports facilitation of the KIDS Advisory Committee and other stakeholder groups. Prepares regular communications and updates for the field. Under the supervision of management and in collaboration with peers, serves as a secondary support for the statewide accountability assessments.

  • Develops communication and support resources including, but not limited to, written correspondences to internal and external stakeholders, ongoing review/revision relevant to website content, analysis of data and development of the KIDS annual state report, in-person or virtual presentation of publications, and development and refinement of manuals and documentation to support implementation of KIDS and other department initiatives.
  • Uses appropriate project management tools and practices to coordinate, implement and support the Kindergarten Individual Development Survey (KIDS) of Illinois public school students.
  • Works with test contractors and others within the Agency and department to ensure quality, timely, and appropriate products and supports for the field.
  • Facilitates and documents the work with external stakeholder committees including development/preparation of agendas and minutes, in accordance with the Open Meetings Act (OMA).
  • Serves as the liaison and collaborator between internal and external stakeholders in support of department and agency initiatives, projects, and requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance to external stakeholders in support of KIDS and other department initiatives including, but not limited to, the provision of telephone and email support related to policies and procedures and assistance to external stakeholders with navigation of the various technology platforms used in the field to support KIDS and the state accountability assessments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or, a Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Two years of experience (in addition to education requirements) in education.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Travel required.
  • Public speaking required.

  • Degree in Education, Education Administration, Human Development, Statistics or Evaluation.
  • Educator and/or Administrative licensure.
  • Experience working within an early childhood setting.
  • Experience with the development and/or administration of assessments and/or observational scales.
  • Experience working with students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience in a variety of educational settings.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating stakeholder meetings.
  • Experience with the management of contracts and/or complex projects.
  • Ability to interpret and present data accurately.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding state assessment and accountability systems.
  • Knowledge of current issues and best practices in the field of assessment.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices and procedures for serving students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Second language proficiency.
