Duties

  • Plan and conduct ongoing professional development for teachers, helping them improve their teaching skills, implement effective strategies, and stay updated with the latest educational research and best practices.
  • Plan and conduct targeted professional development and individual coaching sessions to deepen teachers' content knowledge and pedagogical skills.
  • Assist in the rollout and implementation of the newly adopted ISBE Literacy Plan and research-based Mathematics curriculum.
  • Help teachers understand curriculum standards and effectively deliver content to students, including curriculum mapping and development of coherent, sequential unit plans.
  • Model lessons in classrooms and provide constructive feedback based on observations to enhance teaching practices.
  • Foster collaboration among teachers by planning and facilitating professional learning communities or other collaborative groups where teachers can share ideas, discuss challenges, and support each other’s growth.
  • Assist teachers in using student performance data to guide instructional decisions, differentiate instruction, and implement intervention strategies.
  • Help teachers interpret data, understand its implications for teaching, and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
  • Collaborate with statewide and regional partners to identify, share and disseminate current State mandates, as well as best practice models for increased student achievement. 
  • Work with the ROE Director of Services, Administrative Assistant, other Instructional Coaches, and ROE staff to organize and maintain materials, documents, budget expenditures, and procedures
  • Attend ROE and ISBE sponsored trainings and meetings when applicable.
  • Assist with grant writing for continued and alternate funding opportunities
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of ROE Services, Assistant Regional Superintendent, or Regional Superintendent

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).

Valid teaching certification.

Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience.

Proven experience in instructional coaching or teacher leadership roles.

Strong knowledge of literacy and/or mathematical concepts, instructional strategies,  and curriculum standards.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Ability to use data to inform instruction and support teachers in doing the same.

Emotional intelligence and the ability to provide moral support to teachers.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

 

Salary/Benefits

$55,000-$70,000 annually plus benefits (100% paid TRS, health, dental, vision, and life insurance), 10 sick days, 2 personal days, and paid holidays.

Additional Notes

200 days, spread across the fiscal year in half or full day increments
