Duties
Technology Assistant 2024-2025 School Year
Qualifications: High School Diploma (minimum). Associates degree in technology-related field and/or work experience in related positions (preferred).
Reports to: Director of Educational Technology
Work Calendar: Full-Time, 12 month position
Evaluation: As determined by the District
Position Goal: To be knowledgeable on the District 87’s student information system (Skyward) and state reporting, provide training and support to users throughout the district on technology systems, provide technical support to users throughout the district, and execute tasks to assist the Technology Department.
The Technology Assistant shall be responsible for the following duties, and perform other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Educational Technology.
Board/Superintendent:

Observe and adhere to all Board of Education policies and regulations, and all administrative rules and procedures

Attend Board meetings when necessary to provide supportive materials and information

Follow all State of Illinois codes relative to technology databases and system
District:
-
Work collaboratively with all members of the Technology Department, and the larger staff, to solve technology related problems and implement solutions

Obtain quotes, create purchase orders, track purchases, receive and inventory deliveries

Coordinate technology department repairs
-
Manage the help desk system, phone system, and faxing system

Maintain the accuracy of the website staff directories as well as student and staff pictures

Coordinate the distribution and collection of mobile hotspots and other technologies

Receive and direct calls from staff requesting technology assistance

Assist with technology implementations, including preparation, deployment, support, and deprovisioning

Assist in Skyward related tasks

Provide support and professional development for Skyward and other systems

Create procedures and guides to assist in the use of Skyward and other systems

Travel to multiple schools to provide training and support

Respond to and remedy help desk tickets in a timely manner
Individual:

Exhibit confidentiality in relation to students, parents and faculty

Develop a positive working relationship with administration, staff, students and parents

Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth and development by attending meetings, workshops, conferences and continuing education classes

Be knowledgeable of and adhere to the District Safety Plan
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect District equipment and facilities
