Acts as a case manager for “speech-only” case study evaluations

Screens and evaluates children to identify those with speech/language disorders

Develops appropriate therapy materials for school and/or home
-
Determines appropriate evaluation methods to address referral concerns

Completes and submits all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner

Serves on assigned schools’ RTI problem solving team
-
Participates in staffing, parent-teacher conferences, teacher’s meetings, school open houses and/or other district meetings
-
Conducts and/or participates in Eligibility/IEP conferences
-
Schedules times and notifies all participants of Eligibility/IEP conferences
-
Determines caseload and schedules children in individual or group therapy sessions as appropriate to the children’s need and IEP
-
Maintains ethical communication and standards

Maintains ethical and professional assessment standards

Keep appraised of current rules and regulations in the areas of special education and speech language pathology. Understands public laws which affect education process

Provides services that are reflective of the multicultural sensitivities of students and their families
