Duties

1.   Review student files in preparation for meetings and assessments. 
2.   Prepare all necessary paperwork for special education and related staffings.
3.   Facilitate meetings to assist in determining the appropriate eligibility and placement of students
4.   Conduct psychoeducational assessments using appropriate assessment tools and techniques.
5.   Observe students as needed.
6.   Participate in the pre-referral/building team process and other early identification activities according to district requirements.
7.   Apply knowledge regarding curriculum-based measurement (CBM), progress monitoring, and response to intervention (RTI) methods.
8.   Monitor, review, and revise educational interventions and accommodations that are specific to students’ needs and will support and/or enhance the teaching and learning process.
9.   Effectively communicate assessment results verbally and in written form.
10.   Utilize assessment data to make appropriate eligibility and placement recommendations.
11.   Engage in continuing education and professional development activities in order to stay informed about the most recent issues pertinent to the field.
12.   Consult with the Administration in an effort to provide services within member district parameters.
13.   Consult with teachers, parents, colleagues, administrators, and outside professionals as needed
14.   Advise member districts of appropriate procedures and obligations.
15.   Refer families to the appropriate resources and community agencies.
16.   Abide by district policies regarding internal and external paperwork procedures (e.g. tracking forms, attendance, Medicaid billing/reimbursement, Request for Student assistance, etc.
17.   Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ilinois Professional Educator License with School Psychologist Endorsement/ IL Type 73. Highly dependable with excellent communication skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
