Duties
Limestone Walters CCSD #316 has an opening for a full-time K-8 music teacher beginning for the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for a candidate who will play a critical role in developing students' musical skills and appreciation. They will play a vital role in fostering a lifelong love and appreciation for music in young students, while also contributing to their overall academic and personal development. They will work collaboratively with all staff and use data to determine learning priorities, monitor progress, and assess student achievement. Roles & Responsibilities
- Teach music theory, instrumental/vocal techniques, and musical appreciation through interactive and engaging methods.
- Create age-appropriate lessons that meet educational standards and cater to the developmental stages of K-5 general music students.
- Organize and direct 5th grade beginning band, 6th-8th grade concert band, and 5th-8th grade choir for a winter and spring concert as well as other performance opportunities
- Communicate regularly with parents and engage the community by showcasing students' talents and promoting music education.
- Supervise students during school hours, including non-instructional times such as lunch and recess if required
Qualifications
Applicants must have or be able to obtain a state of Illinois Professional Educator License. They also must complete and pass a background check prior to employment.
Salary/Benefits
Per collective bargaining agreement.
