Duties

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide developmentally appropriate and diverse instruction in art education
2. Establish and implement appropriate procedures for assessing student learning
3. Plan age-appropriate art events and/or special projects to help maintain students’ interest in art.
4. Work with teaching staff to correlate art instruction with other subjects and to address the school-wide focus areas
5. Actively participate in appropriate professional development for staff
6. Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives
7. May be required to provide one section of reading/math intervention
8. Maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning
9. Communicate effectively with students, parents, the public, and staff
10. Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Hold or qualify for Illinois Professional Educator's License (PEL) with elementary art endorsement
2. Experience in Art Instruction Preferred
3. Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process
