Assist the principal in the organization, safety, administration, and supervision of the school and administer the extracurricular programs for the school principal with improvement of instruction and staff development.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below but not limited to: 

  • Works with teachers in the maintenance of effective discipline, and attendance  
  • Assures that statutory requirements and board policies are followed concerning suspension and/or expulsion of students.  In addition, assist in the interpretation and communication of school policy 
  • Evaluates educational support and certified staff 
  • Oversees that all safety maps are and procedures are posted and followed by the staff and students 
  • Assists with discipline  
  • Assists in creating the master schedule for the building 
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and other meetings as directed by the Principal 
  • Assumes the responsibility for the administration of the school in the absence of the Principal when designated 
  • Prepares administrative reports as assigned 
  • Assist with public relations 
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Principal 
  • Assists with ELL testing 
  • Plans and implements standardized testing 
  • GMS only: 
    • Oversees gym scheduling (GMS North and South Gyms and GIS Fieldhouse), playing facilities and fields, building rentals, tournaments, bus scheduling, and school calendar coordination  
    • Attends booster club meetings and code meetings  
    • Checks physicals, certification, code sheets, insurance cards of all middle school athletes 
    • Serves as the contact person and coordinator for IESA sponsored middle/intermediate school activities  
    • Coordinates student athletic eligibility weekly and communicate to students, parents, and coaches 
    • Oversees the recognition of awards and accomplishments for middle school athletics and programs and coordinates ordering end of season awards 
    • Oversees the middle school athletic budget and approve requests to attend coaching clinics 
    • Have inventories and requests for all sports completed at the end of the seasons 
    • Assumes responsibility in planning and preparing the building activities for the clubs and organizations  
    • Schedules all athletic contests, hire officials, send contracts and reminders 
    • Enforces athletic code 
    • Recruits ticket takers/sellers, find competent scorekeepers and timers for all home contests  
    • Assists in the supervision of lunch, bus duty, home and away athletic contests  
    • Assists Director of Athletics in annual review of the extracurricular code 



  • Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois with applicable Type 75 Administrative endorsement
  • Must have valid driver’s license with willingness and ability to travel between buildings
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint criminal background check

  • Computer literacy, in particular and working knowledge of various processing software

Starting Salary $65,000 Commensurate with Education and Experience
