Duties

  • Lead implementation of strategic plan goals and initiative relative to curriculum, instruction and assessment. 
  • Lead and/or participate in the coordination of District professional development.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of District instructional plans and programming.
  • Stay abreast of relevant research about and evidence-based practices in Tier I curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Ensure that all necessary records are kept and reports are made as assigned.
  • Support building administrators in leading curriculum, instruction, and assessment implementation.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of assessment data for trends related to student growth, curriculum alignment, and instructional implications.
  • Assist with the implementation of the District Assessment Plan as related to curriculum and instruction.
  • Plan and/or assist with the planning and implementation of targeted professional development for teachers and staff.
  • Oversee the District New Teacher Mentor and coordinate activities and professional development for new teachers.
  • Provide curriculum oversight and support for the Summer Learning programs.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the administration, staff, parents.guardian, students and community.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree, from an accredited college or university preferred, with training in administration, supervision, and curriculum development at the K-8 level.  

Minimum of seven years of successful experience in curriculum and instruction, teaching, and training in educational administration at the elementary level. 

Experience in curriculum development and in the alignment of K-8  curriculum with standards and assessment. 

Experience and knowledge in relation to instruction and instructional processes and in facilitating the delivery of effective instruction.

  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure with administrator endorsement.
  • Completed all modules of the ISBE Teacher Evaluation Training a plus
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions regarding the safety and welfare of students.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties and tasks with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain effective public, student, and co-worker relationship

Salary/Benefits

Salary is based on market comparisons as determined by the Superintendent. The work year is ten months.
