JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve attractive and nutritious meals to students and staff in an
efficient, timely, sanitary, and friendly manner.

1. Prepare large quantities of food for an assigned workstation in a timely manner. Use
recipes and production sheets to ensure quality and quantity. Use work simplification
techniques for effective use of time.
2. Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, appliances and utensils in a safe and sanitary
3. Maintain accurate food production records for documentation and forecasting.
4. Maintain food safety records and follows all Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
(HACCP) operating procedures to ensure food safety.
5. Serve breakfast and lunch to students and staff. Follows portion control measures to
control food costs and assure compliance with USDA standards.
6. Maintain high standards of food quality and appearance.
7. Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene. Follows hand washing protocol. Wear
clean cloths, closed toe shoes, hair restrains and single use gloves when handling food.
8. Wash, dry, clean and store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, trays and other equipment,
Maintain work and serving areas in orderly and sanitary manner.
9. Clean and maintain cooking areas, equipment, refrigeration and storage areas daily and
additional deep cleaning when needed or assigned.
10. Assist other food service personnel as assigned and time permitting.
11. Participate in training as deemed necessary by the Food Service Director and to meet the
Professional Standards as set forward by the National School Lunch program.


1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending,
pushing, moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.

Additional Notes

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: One hundred seventy-five (175) day school year plus two (2)
additional days for training and cleaning.

Full Time: Seven (7) hour workday, starting at 6:30 am to 1:30 pm. The workday includes a30-minute lunch break and a 10-minute break during the work day.
Part Time: Hours of employment will be individually established by the District.
Early dismissal days are considered a full workday and should be used for training, cleaning or
additional food preparation.
