Duties
Work with struggling readers by supporting, supplementing, and extending classroom instruction inside or outside the classroom.
Instruct students using tier 2 and tier 3 reading interventions and progress monitor skills regularly.
Support teachers with instructional interventions.
Support classroom teachers by assisting as they implement best practices in reading and writing in their classrooms.
Understand the theory and evidence-based foundations of reading and writing.
Analyze data and support staff in making data-based instructional decisions.
Participate in Solution Team meetings.
Provide reading support to Title I aides.
Other responsibilitiies as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a valid Illinois PEL
It is preferred that candidates hold a Reading Specialist endorsement or a Masters Degree in Reading.
It is preferred that candidates have extensive experience providing tier 2 and tier 3 reading interventions and have excellent data analysis skills.
Salary/Benefits
Salary as per current negotiated agreement. Salary begins at $41,779. Benefits include paid TRS, individual health (max $800 per month), dental, vision, and family life insurance. Sick leave, personal leave and bereavement leave.
