The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction to students in a structured classroom setting.  The instructor should be a highly motivated teacher knowledgeable of the RtI process and differentiated instruction.

Duties include:

  • Gathering data to support IEP goals
  • Administering progress monitoring
  • Attending IEP meetings
  • Creating IEP documents and goals, which include writing quarterly reports
  • Using data to design and implement daily lessons and interventions
  • Using research-based instructional strategies to deliver instructional content
  • Providing continuous proactive communication with students, families and district personnel.

Lostant CUSD 425 serves students in grades K-8 in a rural setting.  Lostant Elementary School is in a  co-op with LEASE which is based in Ottaway, IL.  The special education teacher will work closely with their special education team and related services which can consist of their special education coordinator, psychologist, OT, PT, speech, social worker, etc. 


Professional Educators License (PEL) with LBS 1 endorsement required.
