Duties

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan. 2. Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job. 3. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. 4. Hires, supervises, and evaluates staff within the Athletic Department. 5. Counsels students and their guardians about the building’s athletic program, academic eligibility, and post-secondary opportunities. 6. Ensures that students are academically eligible for athletic programs. 7. Builds athletic programs by ensuring coaches have intentional feeder school contact and the coaching staff uses their allotted off-season contact days to build and sustain the program. 8. Monitors Athletic Department and programs to ensure a safe and equitable school environment. 9. Collaborates with District and community partners including but not limited to shared facility personnel, Facilities Department staff, IT Department staff, OSF partners for athletic trainers, facilities requests for middle and elementary school athletic events, as well as requests from the community to use athletic spaces. Assistant Principal of Athletics and Facilities 10. Manages school athletic budgets and expenditures. 11. Oversees all deliveries to school related to athletics. 12. Evaluates non-certified staff members in accordance with District procedures and timelines. 13. Assumes responsibility for functions of building principal in his/her absence.

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred. Previous experience as an athletic coach required.

Salary/Benefits

Salary range $94,105-$122,336
