Represent the offices of Peoria County, Regional Office of Education, and Project START with integrity. Lead and administer in the implementation of the truancy wrap-around program in Peoria County Schools. Assist at-risk families in the development of an education plan of improved attendance. 

Specific duties include:

1. Establish Local Area Network (LAN) process and procedures

2. Develop forms associated with the LAN and host monthly meetings as needed to provide wrap-around services to youth experiencing truancy

3. Provide guidance and supervision to employees who have been assisting students who have been identified as Truant or Chronic Truant

4. Organize recurrent training for employees on Truancy/Prevention and families in crisis

5. Make initial home visit or follow up visits for assessment of children and families that are referred

6. Manage, supervise, and maintain student caseload

7. Attend recurrent training on Truancy/Prevention and families in crisis

8. Keep accurate student attendance records updated each day of class

9. Other duties as assigned to meet grant, program or ROE goals and expectations

 Must hold a bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field

  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory role including hiring and employee development. Experience is preferred with at-risk learners, juvenile justice system, budgeting, grant writing, DCFS, Peoria County education entities, and other community service organizations
  • Specific skills include: the ability to work with a team, ability to work with at-risk students and ROE procedures, possess strong problem solving skills, possess strong written and oral communication skills, have knowledge of computer systems, software, and online programs


Salary range is $75,000 to $80,000 based on experience and education

Additional Notes

Position is full-time, 12 months, with daily hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
