Duties

Position Summary:
As part of the Office of Student Learning, this position oversees Instructional Technology throughout the building to enhance educational opportunities for students, faculty and staff. Coordinates the Library and Bookstore operations. In addition, this position will assist the Director of Student Learning with the development of an Information Technology Pathway that includes a Student Helpdesk. 

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership in the ongoing planning, development, coordination, implementation, improvement, and assessment of Instructional Technology throughout the building.
  2. Directly supervise Instructional Technology staff, Library Support Staff, Bookstore and Student Helpdesk Support Staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  3. Assist Director of Student Learning with needs assessment, long-range planning and budget development.
  4. Serve as liaison between the curriculum and instruction and technology departments.
  5. Seek educator and student participation in selection and evaluation of instructional technology materials, equipment, and assessments to support instructional objectives.
  6. Research and write grants supporting instructional technology initiatives.
  7. Model effective use of appropriate instructional technology in the classroom and the library for teachers and students.
  8. Promote cooperation and articulation between OPRF and District 90 and District 97 middle schools.
  9. Design, coordinate and provide instructional technology in-service opportunities for school-based personnel.
  10. Participate in the development of curriculum through an instructional technology lens. 
  11. Create and implement a building Instructional Technology Plan.
  12. Conduct online research to foster educational applications of technology.
  13. Establish an environment which encourages creative and independent use of instructional technology throughout the District.
  14. Contribute to students’ development of instructional technology skills through the development of curriculum and college and career pathways. 
  15. Work with and support the instructional technology coordinators in planning for and integrating technology throughout academic programming.
  16. Provides the staff with information about new instructional technology developments in their specific area of responsibility.

Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in Educational Technology or related field preferred. 
  2. Professional Educator License with general administrative or principal endorsement preferred.
  3. At least 5 years of successful classroom experience using instructional technology.
  4. Leadership and organizational skills.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to educational equity.
  6. Ability to effectively relate to students.
  7. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  8. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Language Skills:

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, twelve-month position that may require some early morning and evening hours.
 

Salary/Benefits

Terms and Conditions:        12-month work year. This is a full-time position that may require some early morning and evening hours.
Salary:                                    Base salary $91,000 - $115,000 based on qualifications and experience; excellent benefits package.
FLSA Status:                         Exempt
