Duties

  1. Refer students to social services and governmental agencies, support groups and other community resources as appropriate.
  2. Make appropriate assessment and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter.
  3. Helps students with academic, personal, social, and emotional problems and/or makes referrals when and where appropriate and necessary.
  4. Provide teachers with appropriate student personal information including academic and credit standing.
  5. Review records, recommend placements and orientate new students.
  6. Register students and aide students in course and subject selection annually.
  7. Organize and supervise all academic testing. 
  8. Help plan and participate in parent nights and career-oriented field trips as appropriate to grade level.
  9. Responsible for familiarizing students with the content of standardized assessments as well as assisting them in  registering for standardized assessments. 
  10. Assist with student monitoring and preparing students for re-entry into their classrooms.
  11. Work with the building principal in the development of the master schedule.
  12. Serve as 504 Coordinator 
  13. Meet all requirements of the evaluation plan. 
  14. Assist with a student attendance tracking program. 
  15. Will participate and assist/work District Registration. 
  16. Work in collaboration with the Principal on the creation of the Master Schedule and place into the Student Information System.
  17. Develop and review the school Course Handbook annually.
  18. Provides information about individual students to colleges and potential employers. Specifically, the coordinator will assist students in completing college applications and write letters of recommendation for scholarships, etc.
  19. Advertise scholarship opportunities.
  20. Participate as a member of the school’s Intervention Team and MTSS/RtI Team.
  21. Participate in faculty committees and meetings.
  22. Present a professional image to the community.
  23. Maintain professional competence through in-service activities provided by the district and through self-selected professional activities.
  24. Adapt to changes in assignment, programs and materials.
  25. Performs other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications

  1. An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. A valid professional educator license issued by the ISBE Division of Educator Certification, Recertification and Preparation

Salary/Benefits

Compensated per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
