Duties

Duties:

  1. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to the learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students as needed
  2. Implement reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in a fair and consistent manner
  3. Prepare for students assigned, provide adaptations as necessary and show written evidence of preparation upon request
  4. Strive to implement instruction and action the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
  5. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide necessary communication with parents on an as needed basis
  6. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with special needs
  7. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  8. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation; assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct
  9. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence by attending conferences, workshops, and/or coursework
  10. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees
  11. Demonstrate employee responsibilities in completing duties accurately and promptly
  12. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal or Director of Curriculum and Instruction  
  13. Work collaboratively in the classroom with supportive service personnel when it applies
  14. Be responsible for all matters pertaining to curriculum, instructional methods, and materials

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and be properly certified to meet Illinois Teaching License Standards.
  2. A Professional Educator License (PEL) with Elementary and Bilingual Endorsement or an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) with Bilingual Endorsement and proof of program enrollment and passing of content area exam required.
  3. The candidate must be able to speak, read and write in Spanish.
