Duties

Reporting to the Supervisor, is responsible for the review and approval of state and federal grant programs, including, but not limited to, 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and after school programs; serves as a developer on requests for proposals and requests for sealed proposals; serves as the liaison between department staff and agency departments necessary to the successful execution of grant programs; participates as a member of a team of consultants providing technical assistance to grantees about program implementation, evaluation, and effective practices; provides information and other resources to assure school and district compliance with the provisions of the program and applicable legislation.

  • Performs grant evaluations and reviews and approves original and amended grant applications.
  • Assists in implementing federal funded grant programs to ensure the effectiveness and school and district compliance with all programmatic and fiscal regulations.
  • Serves as a developer on requests for proposals and requests for sealed proposals.
  • Serves as the liaison between department staff and agency departments necessary to the successful execution of grant programs.
  • Coordinates, develops and executes requests for proposals and requests for sealed proposals.
  • Serves as the department liaison in planning, execution and coordination of department activities that support assigned federal and state grant programs to include quality enhancements, data storage and retrieval, internal and external communication, budgeting and analysis of legislation, and makes recommendations in these areas to the director as appropriate or required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or, a Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Two or more years of experience working in or with a school, Regional Office of Education, community based organization, non-profit, state agency or other related experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and lead diverse teams. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to set and meet timelines. 
  • Capable of effectively presenting complex information to a variety of audiences in formal and informal settings. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

  • Knowledge of school code and administrative rules, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and experience with implementing grant funded programs.
