Community Consolidated District 89 is seeking a principal for Arbor View Elementary School beginning with the 2023-24 school year on July 1, 2023. CCSD 89 serves the southern portions of Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, and Lombard, Illinois, in DuPage County. The district serves approximately 2,200 students in three preK-5 elementary schools, one K - 5 elementary school, and one middle school. 

The primary responsibility of the principal shall be creating a learning environment that is welcoming, motivating and holds everyone to high expectations. The principal's time shall be invested in curriculum and staff development through formal and informal activities, clearly communicating the school's goals, accomplishments, practices and policies with teachers, parents, and the school community. The elementary school principal shall be visible and active in the school community and prioritize fostering a welcoming school community that allows every single student and staff member to succeed.
Candidates shall have a passion for elementary education, with experience establishing and maintaining an engaging and motivating school environment that fosters a sense of community and belonging.


  • Completion of requirements for a Master's Degree.
  •  Must hold or be eligible for an Illinois Type 75 Administrative certificate. 
  • At least five years of experience as an elementary school classroom teacher.  
  • At least three years of experience as an administrator.  
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communications.  
  • Demonstrated excellence as an educational leader with strong relationship building, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience with collaborative groups and processes in a student-centered environment. 
  •  Other qualifications of academic, professional, and personal excellence as the Board may specify.
