Duties
This position is set to cover an 8 week leave. From Mid January through Mid March.
Lisbon Grade School’s special education position services students from all grades K-8. The special education teacher will primarily act as a resource classroom. This role consists of both push in and pull out minutes for students in various grade levels. The push in minutes support students in their general education classes and pull out minutes support students in the special education classroom to teach and review IEP goals. The special education teacher also helps assist with 504’s and the accommodations within the 504’s.
Lisbon Grade School is co-oped with PASEC which is based through Plano IL. The special education teacher will work closely with their special education team and related services which can consist of their special education coordinator, psychologist, OT, PT, speech, social worker, etc. The special education teacher will be responsible to attend monthly team meetings with the Plano and Lisbon staff and meet regularly with the special education coordinator. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, gathering data to support IEP goals, administering progress monitoring, communicating frequently with guardians and staff, attending IEP meetings, creating IEP documents and goals, writing quarterly reports, assisting students in the general education classrooms, and providing direct instruction and review with reading and math goals.
Qualifications
Certified in Special Education or Long Term Sub License in the State of Illinois.

Having knowledge and/or experience with the following materials and skills will also be beneficial for this role which consists of: AimsWeb Plus, SPIRE, Wilson, Words Their Way, RazKids Plus, TeacherEase, EasyIEP, Google Drive, Savvas, McGraw Hill, Trauma Informed Teaching, and RTI/MTSS Interventions for Tier 1, 2, and 3 students.
