Duties
- Identifies students in need of speech and/or language services
- Participates/conducts Early Childhood screenings and special education evaluations Pre-K-12
- Assess and identify specific speech and/or language disorders
- Creates speech/language evaluation reports and communicates results with IEP team
- Plans and implements the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), as part of the IEP team
- Schedules and conducts therapy for students who require services
- Consults with student, parents and staff regarding speech/language progress, concerns and ways to foster further speech/language growth
- Provides information concerning the nature, purpose and outcome of speech/language therapy services to students, parents and staff
- Maintains data for program planning and decision making for students
- Provides individualized, student-centered therapy lessons
- Communicates with school personnel and parents about speech/language disorders and the impact of those disorders on classroom performance
- Attends meetings, such as faculty meetings, special education meetings and parent-teacher conferences
- Completes IEP paperwork utilizing IEP software
- Accepts the responsibility of punctuality – arriving and leaving work and meetings at the proper time
- Respects and honors the confidentiality of students, parents and staff

Midwest Central is located 15 miles south of Pekin in Central Illinois. The district is with 35 minutes from Peoria and 45-50 minutes from the Bloomington-Normal area.
